Strategy · Ventures · Cross-Border Growth · Family Office

The Hispanic economy is not a segment. It is the market.

HowTo Ventures is the strategy and execution platform behind a connected ecosystem of companies, ventures, families, and institutions building across the United States, Mexico, and Latin America.

We see what is hidden. We connect what is divided. We build what is imagined.

What We Are

An operating platform, not a service provider.

Strategy is only worth what it becomes.

HowTo Ventures began as a strategy, brand, and creative company. Fortune-level clients. Thousands of projects. Work that had to survive contact with real markets.

What we learned in those rooms became something larger. We stopped selling advice and started building: a fintech platform for U.S. Hispanic consumers, gas stations and retail in real neighborhoods, partnerships that move companies across borders, family offices that hold three generations of decisions.

Today HowTo Ventures is the acumen behind all of it — the strategic layer that connects a set of companies, ventures, relationships, and institutional roles that would otherwise sit apart.

We are practitioners. We have made payroll, opened stores, filed for licenses, negotiated with regulators, sat on boards, and taken the phone call when something broke at 11pm. That is the difference between a recommendation and a company.

What We Build

Eight things we make, over and over.

01
Market entry strategies
The full path into a new country, region, or customer base — regulatory, cultural, commercial, and operational.
02
Venture studio projects
New companies built from a thesis, with our people inside them until they can stand alone.
03
Brand and storytelling platforms
The story a company tells about itself, built to hold up under pricing pressure, hiring, and scrutiny.
04
Go-to-market execution
Channels, pricing, sales motion, launch. The part most strategy work never reaches.
05
Strategic partnerships
Relationships designed with terms, incentives, and a reason for both sides to keep showing up.
06
Cross-border networks
Investors, operators, regulators, and institutions in the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America — introduced with context.
07
Family office platforms
Structure, governance, and investment discipline for families whose wealth outgrew the spreadsheet.
08
New companies and business models
When the market is missing something, we build the thing that's missing.
Our Ecosystem

Four companies. One thesis.

Each part of the ecosystem earns its own revenue and answers its own questions. But they teach each other. What IM Financial learns about credit behavior changes how we advise a retailer. What La Verde learns at the register changes how we build a fintech. Nothing is theoretical for long.

HowTo

Strategy · Brand · Storytelling · Venture Studio

The origin and the engine. Brand strategy, narrative, go-to-market, and venture building. This is where a thesis becomes a plan, a plan becomes a company, and a company becomes something people can actually experience.

Decades of work with Fortune-level companies, founders, and institutions — applied to markets most firms still describe as “emerging.”

IM Financial

Fintech · Credit · Insurance · Trust

Built for U.S. Hispanic consumers, and built the hard way. Banking, credit, insurance, compliance, onboarding, and the daily reality of earning financial trust from people the system has historically underserved.

IM Financial gave the ecosystem something no research panel can: a real understanding of how Hispanic households in the U.S. actually earn, send, borrow, insure, and decide.

La Verde

Gas Stations · Convenience · Retail · Local Commerce

The real economy, measured hourly. Fuel, convenience, services, and the operational discipline of physical commerce — margins, labor, logistics, and a community that either walks in or doesn't.

La Verde creates jobs, holds ground in neighborhoods, and keeps the rest of the platform honest about what customers actually do versus what they say.

HowTo Family

Family Office · Governance · Legacy

HowTo Family helps entrepreneurial families turn wealth into structure, structure into opportunity, and opportunity into legacy.

Most families build a business before they build a system. HowTo Family is the layer that catches up: organizing assets, companies, investments, real estate, governance, succession, lifestyle, and the harder conversations about what the next generation is actually for.

We work with families launching a first family office, families professionalizing what they already run informally, and families who want to be part of a broader network — a family office of families, where access, deal flow, and hard-won judgment are shared rather than rebuilt from scratch.

This is not wealth management. It is strategy, structure, and trusted execution across generations.

Chamber of Commerce & Boards

Institutions · Civic Leadership · Access

Business does not happen in a vacuum. Through Chamber of Commerce work, board service, and civic leadership, HowTo Ventures maintains the institutional relationships that make cross-border business possible: regulators, public-sector partners, investors, association leadership, and the entrepreneurs who move first.

Trust is infrastructure. We have spent years building ours.

Who We Help

The people building on both sides of the border.

Companies

  • Latin American companies entering the United States
  • U.S. companies serving Hispanic and Latin American markets
  • Startups and emerging companies that need corporate-grade strategy without a corporate budget
  • Founders who need strategy, access, and execution in the same partner

Capital

  • Investors and strategic partners seeking real operating context, not just a thesis
  • Family offices looking for access to ventures, partnerships, real assets, and market intelligence
  • Institutions and civic organizations working on economic development

Families

  • Entrepreneurial families organizing wealth, companies, and succession
  • Families starting or professionalizing a family office
  • Families seeking cross-border opportunities, governance, trusted partners, and legacy planning
Why It Matters

This is not a niche. It is the growth.

Hispanic and Latin American people in the United States are not a demographic to be reached. They are founders, operators, landlords, franchisees, lenders, employers, and taxpayers. They are opening businesses faster than the national average and carrying an economy that most boardrooms still model as an afterthought.

The gap is not ambition or capital. The gap is infrastructure: the strategy, the relationships, the governance, the institutional access, and the operating discipline that other communities inherited and this one has had to build. That is the work.

And families are central to it. In our experience, the most durable capital in this economy is family capital — patient, relational, multi-generational, and often invisible to institutions that only recognize a fund structure. We do not treat families as clients to be serviced or investors to be sourced. We treat them as builders of long-term economic platforms, because that is what they are.

How We Work

Six steps. No shortcuts.

01
Listen deeply
Before the market research, the conversation. We ask what you actually want, including the parts that aren't in the brief.
02
Find the pattern
The opportunity is usually already in the room — in the customer data, the family dynamic, the thing everyone works around. We name it.
03
Build the strategy
A decision, not a deck. What we will do, what we will not do, in what order, and what it costs.
04
Connect the right people
Operators, capital, regulators, partners, institutions. Introduced with context, timed to matter.
05
Execute with discipline
We stay in the work. Launches, hires, negotiations, filings, first revenue.
06
Create measurable value
Revenue, jobs, market share, structure, enterprise value. Something you can count and something you can hand to the next generation.

Board & Advisory

A seat at the table, not a retainer.

We don't take a board seat we can't be useful in. If we're not the right voice for your table, we'll say so — and we usually know who is.

Some of the most valuable work we do is not a project. It is a chair.

We take a limited number of board and advisory roles each year — independent director seats, advisory board chairs, family council seats, and standing counsel to founders and CEOs who need someone in the room who has done it and has nothing to sell them.

What we bring to a board

  • Cross-border judgment Governance for companies operating under two legal systems, two tax regimes, and two sets of expectations.
  • Market and customer read Drawn from operating companies, not from a report. We know what the customer does because we watch it at the register.
  • Access Capital, partners, regulators, and institutions across the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America.
  • The uncomfortable question The one that should have been asked two quarters ago. That is what an independent voice is for.

Formats

  • Independent board seat A formal seat on the board, with fiduciary responsibility.
  • Advisory board Chair or member of an advisory council, without the statutory weight of a formal board.
  • Family council and family office governance Decision structure, succession, and investment policy for entrepreneurial families.
  • Founder and CEO standing counsel A recurring, confidential conversation with someone who reports to no one inside your organization.
  • Board readiness For companies preparing to institutionalize, raise, or enter the U.S. without corporate governance yet in place.

If you're building something that crosses a border, a generation, or a market — start here.

We work with a small number of companies, founders, investors, institutions, and families at a time. Tell us what you're building and where it's stuck. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right partner, and who is if we're not.
